Down to -185 at Pinnacle, a shop I consider to
be on the ball. I'm begining to smell homecook-
ing maybe. The Candelo fight was enjoyable; hope
you guys saw it. I took the under 9.5 -135 with
Manfredy on ESPN Tues. nite fights. Angel has a
high whack pct and a good resume. Also WAY down the road Joe Mesi is fighting D. Williamson in
Buffalo, where else. Anywhere else, I might take 'touch of sleep", but at HSBC we have to
look to"baby" Joe. A very interesting matchup with Joel Casamayor and Diego Corrales coming up. Check at Olympic. At 140 I would mortgage my
house to bet on Chico, but at 130 I'm not sure.
Joel is 5'7" and gives up a 5" reach along with
5" height. But Corrales looks like a scarecrow
at 6' and 130lbs. He will surely put on 10 or more by fight time I'm guessing. I like to keep
the dialogue alive as it keeps us honest and on our toes.

I am not usually this pissed off
icon_mad.gif
I am usually very good at knowing when to get a number. When I saw Echols at -225 I didn't think he would get any better. I figured the line to go up. It has done exactly the opposite

I have enough on that fight already, I don't like to put all my eggs in 1 basket. There won't be any homecooking in this fight, there will be a decisive winner either way. It's simple, if Echols lands at all, he wins by KO. If not he losses a decision or late KO. I'd be pretty damn shocked if he don't land and KO Mundine.

Home advantage won't matter in the Mesi fight either. Mesi is a better boxer and more skilled than Williamson. Williamson has a BIG right hand though that can easily KO Mesi. Williamson won't win a decision either way. I am not really sure which way I am leaning in that fight.

I don't consider Manfredy a great puncher but I still like your bet on that fight. You got it early enough that it was still respectable. Courtney Burton was dropped 5 times and stopped by Elezear Contreras and that's the only good fighter that Burton has ever fought. Contreras isn't exactly a puncher either, Manfredy should whip his ass and stop him.

i`m a little surprised at the line move also.....especially after reading everybody on this board loving echols....

let it drop....then hedge a little on the over at -120....don`t expect echols to get stopped early....and mundine couldn`t hang for 12 vs weak punching sven ottke...although i expect a much better effort from mundine in front of the homies...

if echols loses,it`ll probably go over 7.....and if echols stops mundine late, you have a shot at it both ways....but,it`s boxing....no guarantees...

just a thought....

I'll probably lay about 5grand on this so Im thinking that I wanna play this in Vegas just like with Byrd. I just dont know how comfortable I feel laying 5grand and trying to cash out for 8grand after a one and done play. Come to think of it, they probably wouldnt even let me. I have always played at Olympic.

But yeah, I'm on Echols. And I would probably be on Cassamoyer against Corrales.

So the Echols vs Mundine fight is Aug 6th but it's not going to be on TV? I checked with Showtime and its not on their schedule. I think the 6th is like a wed or something.

Almly; If you come in, maybe give me a holler.
We can hook up and BS a little. Yea, no US tv
on this one. This may require a satellite, not
sure. Thing is, not sure who has this one up.
So far the only place I haven't checked is Park
Place(Ceasars, LV Hilton, etc.). Unless you have
a "private" out, best to know if it's up around
town.

I just came back here soley to ask you that question. What casinos have this fight up? When I was there a couple of weeks ago I was playing cards all over the strip and I only saw lines for DLH vs Mosely and I think a few had one other fight that I cant think of. How do I bet on this fuking thing? I wish there was a way to see their lines. Can you look around again and check it out if you get a chance? I mean, how do I go about doing this? If any of them do put it up they will probably only take $500 so I would have to spread it around again. That wont work unless about 10 of them have it up. Seriously - what do I do?

When I bet on Tszyu vs Judah I had to spread it around at like 4 or 5 different casinos because all of them will only take $500 max on a fight bet, unless you talk to a boss and he lets you go more because theyre heavy on one guy. I mean, I think you can keep betting $500 at one place - you just gotta let them adjust the line if they want after each bet. Anyway, the guy at the Imperial Palace was heavy on Judah so he let me go more on Tszyu. But I dont think I can even call around to sports book guys in vegas and ask them if they'll have a line on it. Its a pain in the ass.

Yeah but they will only take $500 - $1000 action on the fight. I wanna bet more than that and just do a one and done bet.

Boxing wagers in Vegas ain't what they used to be. The corporate bean counters have infiltrated
the ranks. I will venture out today and hit the
Palms, Ceasars and Mirage. Perhaps Mandalay but
I don't feel it will really do any good. If it
isn't on HBO or PPV or a big name or being hosted by a casino here, they just ignore it. On
the other hand, if it is posted, I know some shops will take multiple dime wagers. I know this for a fact. Lets face it, for a bout NOT
on US tv, and in Australia, it's not promising
that a number will be posted anywhere, but one never knows. As far as the Net goes, Olympic and
5dimes carry lines for these types. Sometimes you have to take what you can get. Canbet has a
number posted also I think. Maybe you can lay off 3dimes or so among these 3 for now. I would
without fear of them trying to stiff me. But I
don't know what your standards are. Believe me,
I used to hound the sports books to post boxing lines and they were getting their collective panties in a bunch over this. They just were'nt
interested. So I went to plan "b". We'll see if
anything materializes.

Echols-Mundine lines in Vegas: Made the rounds
and was, as expected, an excercise in futility.
Went to all the casinos I mentioned; all have
the bigger stuff lined. Only the Palms has the
more obscure lines, such as FNF and such. Also
the Palms, if they post and Echols line, will
limit you to a nickel or dime and move the number. The story here pretty much is if it isn't
a big draw for the casinos or a big HBO event
or a Don KIng/ Top Rank production, forgetaboutit. Sorry, almly. but that's the nature of the beast at this point in time.

Thats sucks, but thanx for checking. Usually the Imperial Palace is good for fight lines but I will probably just do like you suggested. Spread it around on offshore books. Thats pretty gay though.

Well, if you do lay it on heavy, as permitted, I
wish you well at any rate. Boxing just doesn't
get no respect, unless it's a mega matchup. GL.
